Zappa AI + WooWoo Ranch Chat: Tools for the Akita Rescue Community​

At Xylo Digital, we don’t just build websites—we build infrastructure that supports real-world missions. One of our most meaningful launches this year is a pair of tools created under the WooWoo Ranch banner:

🧠 Zappa AI, a conversational assistant trained to answer questions about Akita health, behavior, and training
💬 pack.woowooranch.org, a self-hosted Zulip chat server where rescue volunteers and adopters can connect, learn, and support each other

These tools were built specifically to serve Akita rescues everywhere, offering a digital home for shared knowledge and breed-specific support.

Why We Built This​

Akitas are deeply loyal, intelligent, and often misunderstood dogs. Rescues working with the breed face constant challenges—educating adopters, guiding fosters, and making informed decisions under pressure.

So we built tools to help:

  • 🐾 Zappa AI responds to questions instantly in natural language—just mention @zappa in the Zappa Chat channel and get grounded answers on Akita care and behavior.
  • 💬 Zulip keeps every conversation threaded and searchable—no more lost advice in messy group chats.
  • 🔒 Self-hosted + secure — The platform is privacy-respecting, volunteer-friendly, and ready to scale with any rescue that wants to plug in.
